Joseph (the rich disciple who had obtained permission to
bury Jesus), wrapped Jesus' body in a clean linen burial shroud,
and placed it in his new tomb. He rolled a big stone over the
entrance of the tomb. The Jews had Roman soldiers guard the
tomb so that none of the disciples would steal Jesus' body. |
